Flow Engineering
Steve Pereira leads flow engineering for LEI's LeanTech initiative, helping technology and service organizations see, map, and transform their value streams.
The lean tradition has always understood that visualization precedes improvement, from Ohno's gemba walks to Shook and Rother's Learning to See. But applying this in tech and service organizations, where work is invisible and flows through systems rather than factory floors, requires adapted methods. This is where Steve specializes.
Steve's Flow Engineering methodology adapts value stream mapping for software delivery and knowledge work. He co-authored Flow Engineering: From Value Stream Mapping to Effective Action with Andrew Davis and serves as a board advisor to the Value Stream Management Consortium.
